The FSU Institute for Governance & Civics is pleased to welcome Harmeet Dhillon, U.S. Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice, for a special guest lecture at Florida State University. As the head of the Civil Rights Division, Assistant Attorney General Dhillon oversees the enforcement of federal civil rights laws and plays a key role in shaping national policy related to constitutional protections and equal treatment under the law.

Prior to her appointment, Dhillon founded and led a multi-state law practice and has extensive experience in constitutional law, civil liberties, and election and campaign law. Her career has included work on high-profile legal matters and advocacy related to First Amendment rights and civil rights issues. This event offers a unique opportunity for students and the broader community to engage with a senior leader in the U.S. Department of Justice and learn more about the role of the federal government in protecting civil rights.
